What is a heating coil?
The heater coil is a device used to heat water or air. Usually the electric heating coil acts as a large resistor and as it flows through it, it begins to heat up. Resistance wire used in ordinary household toaster toaster is the same type of wire used in the heating coil. The amount of heat formed by the heater coil is controlled by the rheostat switch. Many appliances such as hot water heaters, electric clothes dryers and electric furnaces are used by some type of heating coil to produce heat.
In the devices, several different types of heaters coils are used. For example, a round wire without a coating is usually found in small electric heaters. The flat tape wire usually occurs in toasters and toasts. Electric furnaces usually use wires coated ceramically to protect wires from dripping fat and food. Very small heating coils are also used inside hair dryers.
in devices such as water heaters and furnaces, heating cIngers pass through heat r to hand heat into a specific area. The thermostat is set to the desired temperature and the heating coil produces heat until the desired temperature is reached. The thermostat then closes the heat by stopping the electricity current into the coil. When the temperature drops, the thermostat allows the electricity to flow into the coil and the temperature rises.
The heaters of the space, dryers and hair dryers use the forced air construction to transmit heat from the heating coils to the intended area. Using an electric fan, the device pushes the air via and around the heating coil. When the coil heats up, the air flows around it and pushed from the heating chamber. Warm air is then directed to a room, glass or hair, where it gently warms or dries as intended. The heat level in the air is controlled by the amount of electricity that can flow through the coil by a rheostat, which is usually marked as "high" and "low".
Most of these forced air devices integrate a safety switch that turns off the heating coil if the fan fails. Without air flow that would take the heat generated by coils, the device could ignite. Items, such as space heaters, also use mercury switch that turns off the device in the event of a tip.
