What Is a Lock Bolt?
A fixing bolt is a type of fastener consisting of a hexagon head and a flange (a gasket under the hexagon is fixed with the hexagon) and a screw (a cylinder with external threads). For fastening two parts with through holes.
- Cooperating with the nut, the two parts are connected into a whole by using a thread connection, which is a detachable connection.
- Types and uses of bolts:
- 1. Hex bolts (common coarse teeth)
- Use: Cooperate with the nut, and use the thread connection to connect the two parts into a whole. It is a detachable connection.
- Flange bolt classification:
1. Hexagonal flange types: There are two types of hexagonal heads, one is flat-brained and the other is concave-brained.
2. Surface color category: According to different needs, there are Dacromet plated white, military green, colored yellow, and never rust.
3. Flange category: according to flange
- Bolted connection is a common connection method. However, in the process of agricultural machinery assembly, due to various factors or improper assembly, the bolts will cause slipping, breakage and other failure phenomena. During the field assembly of bolts, factors such as bolt tightening angles and tightening additives are mainly involved.
- Influencing factors of bolt failure
- The factors considered are: the angle of bolt tightening, the use of grease and fastening agent, and the tightening method.
- (1) Tightening angle
- In the field assembly of bolts, the operator often uses a wrench to tighten the bolt. In the process, the rotation center of the wrench and the center of the bolt cannot be kept well, which affects the tightening effect and the failure torque of the bolt. The tightening angle is a factor that must be considered.
- (2) Use of grease and fastening agent Under different working conditions, it is sometimes necessary to add grease or fastening agent to the bolt assembly. Therefore, the use of additives is also one of the factors that must be considered in the bolt failure research test.
- (3) Material of gasket
- In different assembly positions, gaskets of different materials are sometimes required. Therefore, the material of the gasket is also a factor that should be considered for the failure of the bolt connection. [1]
