What is a water valve?
Plumbing valve is a device used to control the flow of liquid or gas using a water pipe. Some of these valves may be hidden from supervision, while others are located in easily accessible areas. Each type of water valve has some form of a control system that allows the plumbing or repair person to control the valve and control the pipe content. Plumbing valves play an important role in the daily safety and operation of basic water and waste systems, as well as emergency repairs or modifications.
Depending on the application, the water valve can be made of metal or thermoplastic. Common materials for these valves include PVC, steel or copper. The plumber must choose the size of each valve to fit into the adjacent pipes, and some valves require special connectors that allow them to adapt the pipes of larger or smaller diameter. The size, function and materials of the water valve are usually regulated by local building regulations ine to most areas.
Plumbers connect to pipes and valves using a number of different techniques. Many of these plumbing stocks have threaded ends that allow them to be screwed and create a tight bond. Some valves subject to high pressure or strength may be designed with flanges at the ends that allow the user to add screws or bolts for safer connection. Others may require welding to ensure a waterproof seal.
Gateway or stop valve is one of the most common types of water valves. It consists of a thin metal flap roughly the same diameter as the pipe. Using a wheel located outside the pipeline, users can spin the valve to cover the entire inner pipe to block the flow of water. By turning the control wheel, users can open the valve in the opposite way and allow water or gas to flow freely.
Globe or Ball VentiLY is also commonly used in basic water systems. These units include a handle or similar operaanag device on the outside of the pipeline. When the handle turns, it forces the metal ball to the position in the pipe to either block or unlock the flow of water or gas. This type of device is often referred to as a fourth turning water valve.
Many valves contain other devices that perform special functions for control and control of flow. For example, the control valve not only controls how much liquid flows through the tube, but also maintains a fluid flowing in only one direction. This type of valve is commonly used in wastewater systems to prevent re -entering the raw waste water building. Other special valves include a pipe pressure reduction device that carries steam or volatile materials.
