What Is a Rebar Cutter?

Rebar cutting machine is a kind of tool used for cutting steel bars. There are automatic steel bar cutting machines and semi-automatic steel bar cutting machines. It is mainly used for fixed length cutting of steel bars in civil engineering, and is an indispensable device for the processing of steel bars. Compared with other cutting equipment, it has the advantages of light weight, low energy consumption, reliable work and high efficiency. Therefore, it has been widely used in the field of mechanical processing and played an important role in the process of national economic construction.

Comparison of cutting machines at home and abroad: Due to the low technical content of cutting machines, easy copying, and low profits, manufacturers have basically maintained the status quo for decades, and their development is not fast. Compared with foreign counterparts, there are specific gaps in the following aspects.
(1) The worktable surface for pick-up and drop-off should be kept horizontal with the lower part of the cutter. The length of the worktable can be determined according to the length of the processed material.

(2) Before starting, check and confirm that the cutter is free of cracks, the knife holder bolts are tight, and the protective cover is secure. Then turn the pulley by hand to check the gear meshing clearance and adjust the cutter clearance. (3) After starting, it should be run dry before checking the normal operation of each transmission part and bearing before working. (4) When the machine does not reach the normal speed, do not cut the material. When cutting the material, the middle and lower parts of the cutter should be used, and the steel bar should be fastened with the sharp edge of the cutting edge. The operator should stand on the side of the fixed blade to firmly press the steel bar to prevent the end of the steel bar from popping and hurting people. It is strictly forbidden to use two hands to hold the steel bar on both sides of the blade to lean over and feed. (5) It is not allowed to cut the steel bars and hot-steel bars whose diameter and strength exceed the specifications on the mechanical nameplate. When cutting multiple steel bars at one time, the total cross-sectional area should be within the specified range. (6) When cutting low-alloy steel, the high-hardness cutter should be replaced, and the cutting diameter should meet the requirements of the mechanical nameplate. (7) When cutting the short material, the distance between the hand and the cutter should be kept more than 150mm. If the grip end is less than 400mm, the short head of the steel bar should be pressed or clamped with a sleeve or clamp. (8) During operation, it is strictly forbidden to directly remove broken ends and sundries near the cutter by hand. Non-operating personnel should not stay around the rebar swing and around the cutter. (9) When it is found that the machine is not operating normally, there is abnormal noise or the cutter is skewed, it should be stopped for maintenance immediately. (10) After operation, the power should be cut off, and the debris between the cutters should be removed with a steel brush to clean and lubricate the whole machine.

(11) Before operating the hydraulic transmission type cutting machine, check and confirm that the hydraulic oil level and the direction of rotation of the motor meet the requirements. After starting, it should be run at no load, loosen the oil valve, and drain the air in the hydraulic cylinder before cutting. (12) Before using the manual hydraulic cutting machine, the oil drain valve should be tightened clockwise. After cutting, it should be loosened counterclockwise immediately. During operation, you should hold the cutting machine firmly and wear insulating gloves.
