What is the ring flange?
Ring flange is a specialized flange associated with a pipe that uses a compressible ring to ensure a safe seal. The ring can be made of different materials, including different degrees of rubber, fiber and metals. When tensioning, the ring is placed in a shallow groove sliced in the face of flange boards. Before the ring is tightened, it sits a little proud of the surface of the board and is compressed while tightening the joint so that the flange can meet. Rings' flange sets are available in a number of different patterns, including different types of welded metals and plastic free and screw flanges. Serving with flat plates connected to flat plates attached by two lengths of the pipeline, the flange joint is completed by drawing two flange boards firmly against each other using screws that pass through the holes in both plates. The boards were secured at the ends of the pipes in several ways, including welding, epoxy or threaded collars.
Ring flange is a special type of flange that includes another sealing element inserted between two surfaces of the plate. The shallow groove is machined in the face of the flange, usually towards the center of the plate below the tensioning holes. These flanges usually come in sets that contain a separate sealing ring of the same size as the grooves. These rings can be made of rubber compounds, fibers or soft steel and are round or square in a cross -section. They also have a slightly larger diameter than the combined depths of two grooves.
When the flange joint is set and ready for voltage, the ring is placed in the groove on one of the faces and the joint is closed. Since the ring is slightly larger than the depth of the combined groove, it sits a little proud of the flange plates of the face. When the joint is stretched, the ring compresses until the flange boards meet. This forms an extremely effective seal, which significantly increases the efficiency of the joint as a whole.
most types of flange including metal andPlastic weld, epoxy or threaded types are available as sets of flanges of rings of different sizes. The integrity of the ring flange is ideal for aggressive environment with high pressure. These characteristics see a large number of annular flanges used in installations such as oil refinement, natural gas and chemical processing plants.
