What is a sinus bar?
Sine Bar is a tool used to measure angles in wood and metal processing. It can be used to find the desired angle or to measure an existing angle in an object or project. The sinus strip usually comes in standard sizes, with a 5 -inch (12.7 cm) sinus bar among the most common in the US in other parts of the world, 100 mm (3.9 -inch) rod tending to be the most common size, although other sizes are also available.
manufacturers produce sinus sticks to very specific dimensions to ensure accurate measurement. Each rod consists of steel, stainless steel or aluminum and may include one or more magnetic surfaces. The rod contains a cylinder at each end, each cylinder is from the center of the rod. These rollers must measure exactly the same size to maintain a high level of accuracy.
For the use of sinus rods, workers must place the lower part of one cylinder on a flat surface. The upper part of the rod should rest along the measured angle. For calculation angle must be usedAtels divide the height of the elevated end of the sinus rod with the length of the rod. This image gives the Sine user a given angle. Using the Sinus or Mathematics calculator can calculate the angle size in degrees.
Many Sinus rods also come up with graphs that tell users how highly increases one side of the rod to reach a particular angle. Users put small steel blocks under one end of the sinus rod to lift the rod to this height. These blocks, known as precise blocks or measuring blocks, come in exact units to achieve the desired measurement.
Sinus rod can help wood or metal workers to set the angle of the vice or clamp the object in place in the desired position. It can also be used to correctly place the tools on a lathe or milling machine. A sinus tool can even be clamped on site along with an object to ensure accuracyplace. Finally, the sinus bar can be used to ensure that the objects correspond to the correct measurement and angles within the quality control process.
In some applications, the standard sinus bar may not be large enough to measure excessive objects. On these products, workers use a similar tool known to the sinus board. For more complex products, users rely on a folded sinus plate or table. This tool allows workers to measure compound angles on large surfaces.
