What is the tube?

The tube is a water well consisting of a long tube bored into the ground and sunk to the depth of the water surface. The tubular wells are fast and easy to install, so they are particularly popular in developing countries where infrastructure for larger and more connected construction is not well introduced. There are some potential disadvantages to this design, including the risks of water contamination if the well sank at a suitable location. For example, in Bangladesh, for example, the widespread use of the pipe wells led to increase arsenic poisoning due to the natural settling of arsenic in the soil. The cap on the bottom prevents leaching while the screen captures the particles to keep them outside the well. Some wells of pipes are full of gravel and sand to function as another filter. These materials capture the particles in waterpram towards the well.

Installing the well tube is fast and very easy. Minimum skills are necessary and possibleGet well on the spot much faster than other building techniques. Organizations working to support access to drinking water often include tubular wells in their community programs. They can teach community members to sink a well with the first installation, and then provide them with tools for other wells, so the whole community will have access to clean water.

It is necessary to use a pump with a tube to pull water from the well to the surface. The pumps can be controlled by manually or by an engine. Some rely on the electrical supply to operate the electric motor and tend to be more environmentally friendly. CAPS at the top of the tube well prevents contamination from above, maintaining the content of the degrees as possible.

In some regions, residents can create a tank at the top of the tube to create easy access to the water. It may be a problem of public health, as tanks can become a trap for microbes, algae and other organisms that could cause diseases. Animals thatare introduced in the water, they can also introduce urine and feces. This may not be a problem for irrigation, but it may be a reason to worry in water used for bathing and cooking.
