What is an adhesive primer?

Permanently sticking almost everything on a porous substrate can sometimes be a nightmare. The problem is that because the substrate is porous, it absorbs glue and shortens the usable life of the carpet, linoleum or other material that should remain glued for a long time. The solution to this problem and similar problems is the use of an adhesive primer. The adhesive primer is a liquid product, usually made of latex, which is "painted" on the substrate and left to dry. These primers are used to increase the quality of the binding of any adhesive, whether it is a pre -application, as with the tiles of peeling, or if it has to spread, as with an indoor/outdoor carpet.

The latex adhesive primer is usually based on water and dry relatively quickly. Depending on the ambient air temperature and relative humidity, they range between 30 and three hours. Substrates can be either vertical or horizontal and include plasterboard, wood, gypsum, masonry, concrete, wooden wooden and pourSubfloors on site.

The area that will be prepared for the adhesive primer should be ready to apply a primer to the substrate. This means that the area to be prepared, a primer and adhesive should be maintained at or above 65 ° F (18.3 ° C) for at least 48 hours before and 48 hours after installation of the primer and adhesive. This ensures that the Primer dries evenly and that the adhesive itself dries properly. Warm materials are connected to the glue more easily than cold materials. Therefore, the surface must also be acclimatized.

Before using an adhesive primer, the user should be certain that the substrate is clean. This means that it is without any kind of surface contaminants to prevent adhesive primer from its ideal level. Any dust, dirt, wax, lacquer, color, oil, fat or other contaminantybude to disrupt the effective binding of the material. The substrate must also be in good, usablem condition and be relatively smooth and dry.

The amount of coverage, which will be provided by the amount of adhesive primer, will vary depending on the substitute and smoothness of the substrate. The coarser substrates should be as smoothed as possible with a combined and compensatory compound. The compound should be dried and cured as recommended by the manufacturer before using the adhesive primer.

When applying adhesive primer, a short cylinder for fill or coarse fiber brush should be used. If puddles are formed during the application, they should be inverted or brushed so that gluing does not become a gluing. The adhesive primer should be used at full force and the tools can be cleaned with warm water.
