What is Cladding?
A protective layer of material is coated on the surface of the base material. In mechanical manufacturing, the vast majority of organic coatings are coatings, or paint layers. In addition, rubber or plastic can be used as the coating. Iron and steel parts that require resistance to acids, alkalis, and corrosive gases and liquids. Generally, rubber (such as neoprene) or plastic (such as vinyl chloride copolymer) with a thickness of about 3 mm is adhered to the surface to protect the substrate from long-term corrosion. This coating is mainly used in large corrosion-resistant containers or exhaust systems. Metal components buried in soil are often protected by polyethylene tapes.
