What is a fish tape?

Fish tape is a tool that is used to pull wiring through walls, guidance and similar environments. Despite the name, this tool has absolutely nothing to do with fish. Hardware and electric shops often sell fish tape with available lengths and styles. Most of them are made of stainless steel, which is used to create a flat tape, but other materials can also be used. The reels are useful for storage, which ensures that the tape is easily retained and that it will not be damaged unless it is used. The reel also gives the fish tape a slight curve that can be useful when manipulated through the wall or part of the pipe. For the use of the fish tape, the winch is carefully neat and is used to feed the tape through the desired area until it goes on the other side. This can take some practice and skill, especially if the tape is fed by a lengthy opening.

As soon as the fish tape comes out, the wires can be attached to the hook on the tape and the tape can be gently towed back and brings the wires. UsualE This requires two people, one to handle the wires, ensured that they do not become fogged or tangled, and one that manipulates the reel and slowly and steadily brings wires. For particularly thick or large wires, some people prefer to connect the rope to the fish tape, bring the rope, and then connect the wires to the rope and pull them through the rope instead of the tape.

"fish" in "fish tape" comes from the idea that one basically hunt wires. It may be a bit difficult to learn with this tool at first because they can work with an unknown fish tape that someone doesn't feel. It can help train separately with long tubes or other practical materials to gain experience before using this tool in the workplace.

For situations in which the wires must be brought through a particularly long opening can be combined for this work two pieces of fish tape. Electricians can also choose between coils with different tape lengths for different tasks. The reels are usually marked with their lengths and canbe color coded to make it easier to catch the right coil in a hurry.
