What are the different types of biceps surgery?

Biceps surgery is usually done to repair tears that occur along the joints of the elbow or arm. Tears usually occur in biceps tendons and can be full or partial. Surgery may include the use of stitches or the use of implants. Biceps plastic surgery involves the use of implants to increase the appearance of muscle or help to repair the torn tendon. Some candidates for biceps surgery report the sound of pop or snap in the arm. Other symptoms include a visible wound or bulge in the area and difficulty in moving the arm. Usually the doctor performs a test and orders X -rays to explore the extent of damage. Sometimes the muscles of the bice tendons tear on the shoulder. For complete tears, a procedure called a tention is performed to connect the muscles to the shoulderics. During this type of surgery biceps may need to drill holes into the bone of the shoulders and to re -connect the torn tendon

partial tearsY tendons on the shoulder may require a less extensive procedure. Repair of biceps may only include the removal of the torn part of the muscle. The procedure may also include cropping parts of torn tendons to allow natural healing and re -growth. If the damage is sufficiently extensive, metal implants may need to be used.

bicele tendons can also tear on the elbow. The procedures of the surgery of the biceps used in these cases are similar to techniques used for tears of tendons on the shoulder. Anthroscopic surgery, which is a less disturbing procedure including smaller surface sections and microscopic tools, can help again attract torn tendons to common sockets. In addition to stitches or clamps, there may be a smaller metal implantation to re -attracted a torn muscle.

Some individuals want to increase the appearance and size of their biceps muscles. For this purpose, plastic surgery usually includes the use of silicone implants. Surgery can be used to POSFlowing the illusion of increased muscle mass or improving muscle tone.

Physical therapy is usually used in conjunction with biceps surgery. Therapy is designed to help the muscles regain as much function as possible and adapt to implants or surgical modifications. Therapy usually begins with light exercises, followed by more intense repetitions that focus on toning and strengthening muscles.
