What are the different types of extensor repairs?

The repair of the tendon of the extensor concerns any surgery, which attempts to repair the injured tendons to restore the correct movement and function. The tendon is a belt similar to a belt of connective tissue connecting muscles with bones. Extensor tendons allow the body to straighten. This can happen in any type of external force, including everything from overwhelming force, known as the dull trauma of force, to strong stretching to a real cut or division in the tendon. If the tendon in the tendons separates the muscles from the bone, it is called rupture. The extensor tendons of the hand are located near the outside of the hand and therefore easily suffer injuries. The knee is joined with the lower leg to the upper leg. Due to the complicated design of the knee, the injuries of extensors are common in activities that require a sudden direction of Changes or jumping that earn this injury, the nickname "Jumper's knee". These voltage injuries burdened tendons and causes tears or cracks.

For minor division into tendons, a short period of rest and immobilization may be enough to allow tendons to heal. If injuries are serious, manual tendon repair to restore normal movement and reducing pain may be required. If the tendon tears from the bone, as seen in the tendon rupture, the muscles will no longer have the ability to move bones. This is a place where the procedure for repairing the tendon of the extensor to connect the muscles to the bone.

During the surgery for the repair of the tendon of the extensor tendon, the damaged tendon areas are repaired with stitches or stitches to join the area together. On the occasion where the tendon suffered serious injury, the tendon's excision, also called tendon resection, is necessary. This is removed part of the tendon.

After surgery, the damaged area is placed in the splint or immobilizer for up to several weeks to make the area stable and prevent further injury. Dynamic splints are sometimes used. These devices after surgery allow a small amount of controlled movement to dreammarrying swelling and reducing the risk of scar causing contracture or permanent shortening muscle inhibiting normal movement.

To restore the maximum function and mobility after repairing the tendon of the extensor, it is recommended for several weeks of physical therapy. Physical therapy can solve pain problems and provide proper techniques of stretching and strengthening necessary to obtain the normal length and strength of muscles.
