What are different types of orthoses?

Orthosis is a device that helps people move better or more safely, or that prevents movement when part of the body must be limited. There are a number of orthous braces that the orthotist can produce, and are often tailored to a specific problem of the patient and the unique body shape. A distinctive strut can be adapted to the back to help shorten the curvature of the spine, for example, in the case of scoliosis. Other braces can be made for a number of problems that affect the leg, leg, spine, arm or hand.

orthose can be designed to help support a weak joint, such as ankle, knee or elbow. These devices can also help repair or improve movement, including human walking, or can prevent injury or try to relieve pain. Some braces, such as certain braces of scoliosis, are made to wear only a certain number of hours a day to achieve the desired result. Other types of braces are worn whenever correction is needed such as oorthosis lTose so that the patient can walk. The physician may also prescribe orthose orthosis to alleviate the tight nerve and its related pain by changing the body alignment.

In order to create an orthosis orthosis, the orthotist must first create a form from the body that will wear a strut. The mold is made similarly to the cast would be made for a broken limb and in fact resembles a cast. The orthotist then uses this form to create an orthosis from the thermoplastic material. In some cases, orthosis orthosis requires several fittings to achieve the right and comfortable adaptation that does not hurt the skin too much friction in certain areas, such as the bony part of the ankle.

The orthosis type known as AFO (ankle and leg orthosis) is often prescribed for patients who have bifida, brain palsy, drug leg, limb deformity, stroke, multiple sclerosis, polio or paraplegia.Thespacients can also use coffee (knees, ankle and foot brace), which achieves as high as thigh to support the knee except the ankle and foot. A similar device that protects the neck is cervical braces.
