What is Richie Brace?

Richie Brace® is tailor -made for tailor -made orthotic (AFO) ankle (AFO) specially designed to reduce pain from chronic ankle and leg problems. The original Richie Brace® was designed by Dr. Douglas Richie in 1996. This resistant medical device uses various materials including plastic, metal and elastic to provide support and stability for patients with a number of foot injury. The original manufacturers of the device have set it to the maximum mobility, especially if they use athletes.

These braces are usually worn during recovery from injury, but can use them indefinitely people with flat legs, leg deformities, falls of legs and chronic deep pain pain. Depending on the type of injury and the purpose of the orthosis, a number of Richie Brace® models are available. The models differ from the support from the support only to the ankle to the stability through the lower leg.

These braces are often selected by doctors because of their previous result of success. Unlike AFO solid modelsIt is a foot and ankle to help provide smooth normal walking. Richie Brace® is specially sizes to fit in normal shoes without expanding the size of the shoe. They can also be modified to limit the movement in the leg and ankle.

Custom Richie Breates® are formed from negative castings. In some cases, the cast is made using plaster, but for most patients a special casting sock is the best choice. Using this possibility, a podiatrist, who prescribed Richie, would put a protective, plastic bag on the patient's leg. This would then be covered with a special sock that quickly solidifies in the shape of the foot. Because the sock is thin, the doctor can mark important points such as the fingers and ankle bones and then carefully cut off the hardened cast.

Once the negative impression is Collected, the cast can be sent to a special laboratory to start the construction of RichIE Brace®. Several laboratories in the United States and Canada are authorized to create this device. These companies also offer renovation and repairs. In many cases, the costs of this permanent medical device are covered by health insurance programs.

The Richie Breates® family also includes a model of an over -the -counter that can be used without customizing. This device can be found in drug stores, but after a serious sprain is often distributed to a hospital or clinic. This type of Richie Brace® is adapted using a suitably leg size and adjustable dimensioning strap. This type of orthosis is often prescribed to treat breaks or sprains. Over-the-Counter Richie Breates® can be used for temporary support, while Richie Brace® is under construction.
