What is vaginoplasty?

Vaginoplasty is a surgery used to tighten the vaginal muscles of a woman. It is usually done after the birth has caused the female vaginal muscles to be stretched and become more lax than usual. This procedure is reportedly more pleasant for both the woman and her partner.

Vaginoplasty is usually performed with the patient at the effects of general anesthesia. In some cases, however, only local anesthesia and sedation are used, which anesthes the affected areas and soothes the patient instead of sleeping. The operation is usually completed in just an hour or two. After surgery, a woman can spend the night in the hospital.

During vaginoplasty, the surgeon is associated with excessive muscles and creates a stronger vaginal channel. Any excess skin is cropped in the procedure. Instead of scalpets, lasers are sometimes used to get rid of excess tissue in this area.

, as can be expected in all types of surgery, there are some risks that are undergoing vaginoplasty. For exampleThere is a small risk that the patient could develop a poor response to anesthesia used during surgery. The patient could also develop problems with bleeding, such as excessive bleeding or abnormal blood collection in the affected area. This operation could also lead to infection. For this reason, women are usually said to take showers instead of bathrooms during the recovery period.

During the recovery period, the patient may expect to feel pain and have small swelling. Patients are usually able to walk without discomfort within a few days after surgery, even if they are encouraged to start moving on the same day. For this surgery, stitches are often used, so most patients do not have to return to the hospital to remove them. Normally, however, the following tests are again found their surgeons.

Patients are usually recommended to reduce physical activity about a week after the vaginoplasty. During this time, they are expected to rest as much as possible, which will facilitate recovery. After about a week they can return to work, but it is best avoiding strenuous activities. In general, patients can restore all their normal activities about three weeks after the procedure with one exception. Many doctors recommend patients to wait for sexual activity to be restored until four to six weeks have been released.
