What Is Cefoperazone?
Cefoperazone sodium Cefoperazone sodium is a third-generation cephalosporin, and it is effective against enterobacteriaceae such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, Salmonella typhimurium, Shigella, Citrobacter Bacteria and Pseudomonas aeruginosa have a good antibacterial effect, and they have a poor effect on Enterobacter aerogenes, Enterobacter cloacae, Typhoid and Acinetobacter. Haemophilus influenzae, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis are highly sensitive to this product. This product also has good effects on streptococcus and pneumococcus in each group, only moderate effects on staphylococci (methicillin-sensitive strains), and Enterococcus is resistant. Cefoperazone has a good effect on most Gram-positive anaerobic bacteria and some Gram-negative anaerobic bacteria. Bacteroides fragilis is resistant to this product. Inflammation of the meninges can enter the cerebrospinal fluid.

Cefoperazone sodium indications
- It is used for infections in the respiratory tract, urinary tract, peritoneum, pleura, skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, facial features and other parts caused by various sensitive bacteria. It can also be used for sepsis and meningitis.
Clinical application of cefoperazone sodium
- Adults: 2 4g daily, divided into two administrations, intravenously or intravenously. For severe cases, 6-8g can be given daily in 2 to 4 times.
Cefoperazone sodium adverse reactions
- Allergic reactions can cause rashes, fever, and itching. Appetite deficiency, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea appear in the digestive system. Abnormal liver function. Transient blood urea nitrogen and creatinine increase. Occasionally white blood cells, neutrophils, thrombocytopenia, and eosinophilia increased. Long-term medication can cause secondary infections such as candidiasis and pseudomembranous enteritis. Can interfere with the metabolism of vitamin K in the body, causing bleeding tendency, especially in large doses or long-term medication.
Cefoperazone sodium precautions
- Allergic to penicillin and allergies should be used with caution. This product can pass through the placenta, and a small amount can be excreted through breast milk. The medication for pregnant and lactating women should be weighed against the pros and cons.
Cefoperazone sodium contraindications
- Those who are allergic to cephalosporins are prohibited. Patients with liver dysfunction and biliary obstruction are disabled.
Cefoperazone Sodium Drug Interactions
- Combined with aminoglycosides, it has a synergistic antibacterial effect on some sensitive strains of E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, but it should not be mixed in the same container and should be given separately. Combination with non-steroidal analgesics and platelet aggregation inhibitors can increase the risk of bleeding. Used with aminoglycosides, other cephalosporins, or strong diuretics, may increase renal toxicity. Used with anticoagulants or thrombolytic drugs, it can interfere with vitamin K metabolism and cause hypothrombinemia.
