What Is Computer Assisted Surgery?

Computer Aided Surgery-CAS is a new cross-cutting research area that integrates many disciplines such as medicine, mechanics, materials science, computer technology, information management, network technology, and communication technology. Its purpose is to use computer technology (mainly computer graphics technology) to simulate various processes involved in medical surgery, including surgical planning, surgical navigation, and auxiliary treatment planning.
