What Is Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair?
Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair is a safe and technically reasonable tension-free repair operation. Laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair mainly includes two methods: trans-peritoneal preperitoneal patch implantation and total extraperitoneal patch implantation (TEP). Studies show that the recurrence rate of laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair is 1% to 2%, which is equivalent to open tension-free repair and lower than open tension repair. Compared with open surgery, laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair has an incision. Small, mild pain, early normal physical activity; laparoscopic inguinal hernia repair total complication rate is equivalent to open repair.
