What is Propylhexedrin?
Propylhexedrin is a stimulating drug similar to amphetamine, which is mainly used by intra-dust, as a decongestant. It is known by various business names around the world. Due to its stimulating properties, propylhexedrin was used as a drug abuse, although its abuse potential is lower than the potential of other amphetamines.
Due to its anorectic properties, propylhexedrin was previously available as an oral tablet used for weight loss. In most countries, it was withdrawn from the market due to addictive properties of the drug. In some countries, however, it is still available as an inhaler. This causes irritation and inflammation and a feeling of clogging, which may be the result of allergies such as hay fever or diseases such as colds. Propylhexedrin works by causing vasoconstriction of blood vessels, and therefore relief from clogging. Being used only for short -term, because one of its main side effects is rhinitis medicamentosa or reflective nasal overload. Should not be used longer nThree days in a row, because the spring nasal overload can result in five to seven days after the start of the inhaler. The reflective nasal overload is probably due to a negative feedback system that causes greater vasodilation and further blockage of the nasal passages when the inhaler is stopped. People often try to use more propylhexedrin or use it more often to fight the problem, which actually worsens it.
abuse of propylhexedrin was practiced in different ways, including inhalation, injection and use of oral. Some cases of ingestion of cotton inhaler interior have been reported. It is an extremely dangerous practice because cotton can cause gastrointestinal blockages and internal infection. In addition to these mechanical -impressive effects, the abuse of the drug itself has potentially dangerous effects such as addiction, tachycardia, convulsions and serious heart problems.
afterThe use of propylhexedrin inhalers can reduce congestion related to sinusitis, allergies or colds. Most inhalers contain menthol and lavender in combination with the medicine, which increases decongestant effect. Inhalers should not be shared as this can support the spread of infection. If there are any adverse effects, or if concomitant diseases or medicines are used, they should be asked to advice from a doctor or pharmacist before using the product.
