What is the difference between ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin?

Ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin are various types of antibiotic drugs primarily used to treat bacterial infections. Amoxicillin is classified as a mild spectral antibiotic and is widely prescribed for the treatment of pneumonia, neck neck and some sexually transmitted diseases. Ciprofloxacin is a broad -spectrum antibiotic that can be effective against a wider range of bacterial types. Both drugs may have serious side effects, so it is important that patients follow the doctor's instructions and carefully read any information contained with their regulation. It is often given to children to treat ear pain, neck strepe and other common child infections. This family of drugs works best against gram -positive bacteria and can be prescribed or mixed with another drug to help fight certain infections. Both ciprofloxacin and amoxicillininfction of anthrax can be prescribed for treatment, although ciprofloxacin is commonly offered in the United States after potential anthrax exposure.

Unlike amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin is classified as a broad-spectrum antibiotic that is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. This drug belongs to the family of antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones and is used to treat various bacterial infections, including gastroenteritis, respiratory infection and chronic prostatitis. The risk of serious side effects means that ciprofloxacin is generally not provided for children in the US unless E. coli and anthrax have been exposed. Ciprofloxacin is often prescribed in cases where bacteria have developed resistance to amoxicillin or other antibiotics.

While ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin may have serious side effects, ciprofloxacin is generally considered to be more risky of these two -wing and received black boxes from American food and drug administration (FDA) due to increased risk of cracked tendons and more serious muscle weaknesses in Myasthenia Gravis. AmoxicLIN is generally considered safe during pregnancy, but ciprofloxacin should prevent women during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to the risk of congenital defects and other side effects. Ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin can interact with other medicines and patients should inform their doctors about any medicines that they are taking before starting the regime of one of them.

In general, amoxicillin is used as an antibiotic of the first line, either by itself or in combination with other drugs, to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. Ciprofloxacin is prescribed for more serious infections or when bacteria resistant to drugs may be present. After a large operation, ciprofloxacin can also be administered along with intravenous fluoroquinolones to help invalid ainfections.
