What is Thermage?

Thermage® is a cosmetic procedure using radio frequency to treat wrinkled or sun -damaged skin without damaging the outer layer of the skin. In the procedure, the skin surface is shower with intense heat pulses with radio wool, causing collagen to react by thickening, which in turn smoothes wrinkles and the skin seems stronger. This process has become popular because it is non -invasive and generally includes a small recovery period.

The skin is made up of two layers, a visible epidermis at the top and the dermis below the collagen. With age and sun, collagen production decreases, causing the dermis to thin and the epidermis bend or wrinkles. The use of Thermage® to increase collagen production temporarily reverses this process, strengthens and tightens the skin.

The typical Thermage® session is applied to the face anesthetic cream an hour before the start of treatment. Using a patented radio frequency device called Thermacool TC, it controls intensive hot -determined areas. During the procedure there is mo moThe skin temperature and, if necessary, a cryogenic cooling spray is used to prevent the development of open burns. Patients may experience a feeling of extreme heat, but some experts claim that the process is relatively painless. Depending on how large the targeted area is, sitting usually takes less than one hour.

Thermage® has been approved by the US Food and Drugs Association for use, but relatively few studies have been conducted to test the effectiveness of the procedure. Those who were done indicate that 50-60% of customers were satisfied with the results. In one study, experts concluded that the results last five to six months after initial treatment. However, it should be noted that the results are not immediate and for weeks or months, the collagen will thicken.

As with almost all cosmetic predecessors, some side effects may occur in ThermAge®. In some cases, redness, swelling and face pain were reported. In one small study, 4% of patients had 6 months of residual scarring. Some critics also claim that the claim "without downtime" is false and the recovery of the procedure for residual pain and persistent side effects may take several days.

Budget needs and the severity of the condition can affect your choice of cosmetic procedure. Thermage® is not a permanent remedy for flabby skin or wrinkles. While studies show some improvement of leather tightness, the results are not as dramatic as the surgical facelift. The procedure is considered ideal for people who experience slight skin and wrinkles, usually those in their 30 and early 40 years.

In terms of price, one Thermage® session costs between $ 1,000-1500 USD (USD). The cosmetic facelift is significantly more expensive, on average approximately $ 5,900 and the transfer of greater risk due to the use of anesthesia. If you are interested in the procedure, be sure to consult your doctor and renomovaA dermatologist to fully outline all the risks and see if you are a good candidate for thermage® treatment.
