How do I measure the right VALANCE size?

The first step in determining the size of VALANCE is careful measurement of the window that will be treated with Valance. Valance size will always have to be at least somewhat wider than a window. Depending on where the hardware is placed, it can also be wider than the window frame. Valance is often used to hide rods, holders or other hardware, so you want large enough to cover them and allow enough space between piece and hardware. For Gathers, you will need to add much greater width when configuring VALANCE size.

Once the curtain rods are introduced, you will be able to measure the width of the rod and return. The return is the length of the space between the wall and the face of the curtain rod. You will need to measure one side and then multiply it by two and add it to the rod face to determine the appropriate VAL size.

For wooden Molanc or other solid material you will have to make sure its return is far enough to keep enough space between it and hardware curtainsy. You will need enough material to cover the overall width, including the return and leave space for seam. If you prefer the collected appearance, more substance will be needed. You will have to double the size of Valance and maybe add another 50% depending on how much rally you want.

As soon as the width is calculated, it is time to switch to length. The rolling length is determined by a number of different elements, including the height and height of other objects in the space. If you want to go with standard size, typical Valance is about 14 inches (or 36 centimeters) long from the lower edge of the rod to the bottom of the hem.

If you are planning to do your own treatment, you must start to calculate the magnitude size with at least 14 ”(or 36 centimeters) by adding about one inch (or 2.54 centimeters) for the hem. You will also have to add a suitable amount of fabric for the pocket.would go or need to run. 2.54 centimeter) Round will require two inches (or 5.08 centimeters) fabric.
