Should I get a pet?
There are some advantages of a pet, but a pet is not for everyone. If you live in an apartment, condominium or other type of housing that could have strict rules for pets, find out what domestic animals are allowed. Fish that require a large aquarium, rodents and some or all dogs and cats are often banned in shared or controlled housing situations. If money is a problem, remember that the pet is not synonymous with cheap. You may also want to consider how long a pet will be ideally live, because the life of the animal can be anywhere from a few weeks to more than 100 years. Failure to comply with the rules of the apartment or apartments often lead to severe fines, eviction or both. Even if you find the perfect pet and you can easily cut it into the building, usually it is not a good idea without money at hand for fines, another home PET and backup housing for yourself if it becomes the worst. However, most places do not care if tenants keep MASummer fish, gerbily or lizards. Exotic animals and large dogs are commonly prohibited, but these pets are generally not the same low maintenance.
Initial expenses for low maintenance pets may not be low at all. If the initial costs are not a problem, think about how much a domestic animal will cost in the long term, including the monthly food costs and bedding. Low maintenance is unlikely to have frequent health problems, but you should determine the cost of helping the veterinarian if the animal becomes ill. When pets with low maintenance have health problems, treatment can be costly and potentially time consuming. As with all pets, their health is the responsibility of the owner and at least you may have to pay for the human euthanization of the animal.
Frequently overlooked aspect of ownership of a pet is the average life of the animal. Even some fish, gerbily andHammers can live for several years or more with good health care. In fact, some types of birds and turtles live much longer than the average person and must be provided a new home in the last will and will. If you are going to move or otherwise do not want a pet in two or more years, some low maintenance animals are not for you.
