What are batik images?

Batik Painting is an ancient art form that consists of systematic application of wax and fabric dyes - usually cotton - to create images. Ancient batik images usually depicted animal or natural scenes, but they could imagine anything. This artistic form, which was originally in Indian and Asian areas, is now found around the world, and art universities in many countries teach this technique. Batik painting can be applied to clothing, furniture covers and wall curtains.

Batik images were not recorded in India only 2,100 years ago and are traditional Indonesian art that has been passed on for generations. It was also found in Egyptian tombs. At the beginning of the 20th century, batik paintings were very fashionable in Germany and other European countries. The word "Batik" probably comes from the Indonesian word ambiotic , which means "dots". Someoss used vegetable dyes, wax and cotton or silk substance. After washing the substance and removing allThe starch was made on the fabric sketch coal. After the sketch was completed, a special wax containing bee wax and resin was used to fill in any sketch areas that would not be colored. For this purpose was used a tool similar to Peru called Tjanting in India and canting in Indonesia. Once the wax application was completed, the fabric was soaked in the desired color of the dye and then gently washed.

This process had to be repeated for any color that the artist wanted to include in the image. Ancient art has always begun with bright colors and ended with dark colors. When the piece was completed, any remaining wax was removed and the image was immersed in the diluted sulfuric acid solution to adjust the colors.

Batik Painting was introduced into Africa everyday. Around 1976, the new process was developed by artists like Henry Lutalo Lumu, who studied an ancient form. He decidedstart with dark colors instead of light and used brushes to apply the color rather than immersed the entire dye in the dye. The wax was used to seal colors on site. The technique called "fragmentation" was also developed to add the background depth.

With this new process, artists allowed artists to have much more control of the color, texture and shading created pieces and added depth to the parts that had not been seen before. This African process is referred to as a modern batik method. Modern batik images can be traditional, but many depict modern, realistic looking objects or are often abstract.
