What are chain earrings?
Chain earrings are a type of earrings that use one or more sources of a metal chain to create a hanging, linear silhouette. These types of earrings can be made of many different types of metals that may have different finishes. They may differ relatively long length and may or may not include other components such as gems, semi -precious stones, enamelled spells and metal components of other shapes. Chain earrings can be designed with a number of types of hooks and posts, depending on the intended appearance of the earrings and whether they are made for people with ear piercing. In some cases, they may have a second part that connects to a small cuff that fits around the top of the ear.
It is quite common that the chain earrings have been added to their designs by color components. These components can be made of stone, pearls, glass or even plastic. One common silhouette includes a round component such as a pearl or coral that fits directly below the earrings. From thisThe women hang one or more string lengths. In other cases, smaller components such as gems may be connected to the bottom of each string.
There are several types of chain earrings that include only one chain length, but it is much more common that a number of chains are used. In some rare cases, only one length of a relatively thick chain will be used for each earrings. Sometimes all chains in chain earrings are collected to create a kind of tassel.
The length of each piece of string used in chain earrings may vary a bit. In most cases, these earrings hang down from the ears that reach about half the shoulders. There are more dramatic designs in which earrings actually touch or fall around the shoulders. These types of earrings are sometimes referred to as shoulder sweepers. There are also designs in which length of the chain pieces are not uniform.
Some chain earrings are designed so that the chain lengths hang from the hoop instead of the hanging directly below the shell. This type of hoop can be circular or shaped as a drop of tears. There are some cases in which the hoop is angular and may have a square or octagonal shape.
