What are exurbs?
Exurb are seated regions beyond the suburb of the city or the main metropolitan area. In some cases, exurbs may be of rural nature, although some are more densely built and all have a relatively low population density. Many suburbs begin as exurbs, and many exceptions were slowly swallowed by the suburbs of regions that are adjacent to the population growth, leading to increased demand for usable soil. The flight from the cities of the developed world began to take off at the 60s and 70s, when the ownership of the car became viable for most people. People began to leave cities for fear of growing crime or in response to demographic shifts, such as a flood of minority inhabitants entering the city. In the United States, this was referred to as a "white flight", which reflects the fact that many suburban and exurban settlers were white and that race was the main motivator in leaving urban areas.
Exurbs continue to be created because people are looking for communities that are smaller and safer than large cities in their regions. Some people believe that exurban life is better for children, giving children a chance to go to better schools and live in a community where people are more familiar with each other. Others say they don't like the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy peace and space for the garden, hikes, bikes and engage in other outdoor activities in their communities.
The character of exurbs is quite diverse. In the studies of these regions, residents tend to be richer, better educated and members of the dominant racial group of the region, unlike urban people. Some climbers are actually playgrounds for wealthy individuals who want luxury of larger land and quieter community, while others have more middle -class characters, housing, who just want a little more space than they would be available in the city or suburbs.
many existence lacks the main industry, whatIt means that most citizens are forced to commute to work. In other cases, Exurbs will become isolated from the neighboring town, with residents rarely embarking on the city and being due with any local job. Exurst inhabitants tend to be less politically and socially involved in life in the city.
One of the problems for many existence is the rising cost of living caused by the migration of people with higher incomes from the city. When the rural area begins to colonize as an exurb, the native residents can find prices from local real estate and sometimes there are conflicts on social and political issues among newcomers and old timers.
