What are kimonos?

It was not until the 90s of the 20th century that most Japanese women had relatively formal kimonos every day. After the turn of the century, many women began to work away from home and had to simplify their kimonos to do their job. The same tradition is still true that women usually own the only kimono-ten they receive at their ceremony of the upcoming age at the age of 19. Men also wear kimonos, but usually in subdued colors and samples. They, too, usually wear robes only on special occasions.

The most formal kimono is the one that most people consider to be "typical" kimono. These robes are usually worn with decorated obi or wide belt. Kimonos are not lined to fit - they are mostly all the same lengths, so the other material has to go somewhere. In this case it is collected at the waist, composed and secured afterD obi . Formal kimono is often made of silk and cotton fabric.

For festival wear can be obi worn with yukata , but the wing is used at home or in the spa. yukata is very light cotton, comfortable for warm and humid years. It is the most popular kimonos, which is still commonly worn in Japan.
