What are Lucite® beads?

LUCITE® balls are a type of plastic balls made of material called polymethylmethakrylate, which is also called Plexiglas. They are very popular among designers and jewelry manufacturers and are used to make costume jewelry. Available in many different forms, some Vintage Lucite® beads are even considered collectible items.

In the 1920s, they worked with a type of plastic called Bakelite to create costume jewelry. It was an opaque type of plastic that resembled a yellow amber. At that time, colorful types of plastic were developed, and while imitating the appearance of gems, they were considered too grim to be tasteful. Scientists of that time began to work on creating new types of plastics that had better properties than their predecessors.

DuPont Chemical Company is attributed to the creation of Lucite® at the age of 30 and objects made of Luite® such as nasal cones and windshields were used in the world of II. After the war they started different desiGnérs use Lucite® as an alternative to Bakelite, because it came in more beautiful colors and was much brighter. Dupoint sold Lucite® in the postwar period as the right material for fashion brushes, lamps and stylistic beads, in addition to the huge range of accessories.

In the early 1940s, many different types of LuCite® beads containing brilliant colors in different styles were produced. Marbelized types and beads containing stripes and jewelry tones have become very popular. These beads are currently valued by costume designers for their excellent craftsmanship. Many manufacturers of jewelry and craftsmen use Lucite® beads to add a touch of pizza to their creations.

The popular jewelry that produced these beads ceased to produce them in the 70s and 80s. Therefore, the vintage beads of Lucite® can be quite difficult to locate because the songs were stored to sell them totrades. These beads come in fantastic shapes and are very richly colored. The highest quality beads do not show any seams because the lathe turned. This means that the touch on the lathe has been completed.

In general, jewelry made of Lucite® vintage beads is much more expensive than those of newer versions. There are many different types of new Lucite® and vintage Lucite® beads. It differs greatly in size, form, color and weight. Lucite® flower beads are classic popular among many designers and have in many beaded jewelry creations.

MOONGLOW LUCITE® Beads are valued for their pearl style and seem to shine from the inside. Mosaic Lucite® beads are pressed types of beads that are still considered vintage. They have a light spark and a spotted look.

It is also possible to cut or etch Lucite® beads and can be interpreted with exquisite colors. Jewelry designers prefer to use these beads to create robust costume spinesErka because they are quite light. While vintage Lucite® is slightly heavier than the current range of plastic beads, it is still light enough to be used extensively.
