What are foods?

Mealworms are larvae of dark beetle, also known as Tenebrio Molitor. The dark beetle is a holometabolic insect, which means it has four life phases: eggs, larva, navel and adult. The division is a dark beetle in the form of a larvae, where it remains for 90 to 114 days before it turns in the trunk. When they are born for the first time, the larvae are white, but within a few days it will change either honey yellow or yellow -brown. The cleaner worm, when mature, will measure 1.25 inches (3.18 cm) long. Their bodies are smooth and hard, with shiny appearance. The dining worm has a high protein content, so it is a preferred meal among reptile owners and birds. Worms can be purchased in pet stores where they are sold in a container with oatmeal or bran. They are particularly popular among the ice fisherman.

Many people decide to increase their own worms because it is very easy and can also be fun. When breeding your own worms, the cost of 1000 worms is reduced to ten cents, which includes food and bedding. It provides endless baits for passionate fishermen.

If you want to behave with dining worms, you will need a plastic container, whole grain flour or wheat bran, potatoes and starter culture of about 500 meals. You can buy a starting culture online. Many pet shops will also be SEURČU for you starting culture, but usually it costs about twice as much as online buying.

Fill the plastic container about one inch (2.5 cm) wholemeal flour and add the worm culture. Place several thin potato slices for moisture in the box. Keep the temperature of about 75 degrees Fahrenheit (23.89 degrees Celsius). In a few weeks the worms turn into hoods, followed by beetles approximately three days later. Transfer beetles to another container to behave and lay approximately 500 eggs.
