What are peroxiredoxins?

Peroxuredoxins are a group of antioxidant enzymes based on proteins found in the cells of the body. These enzymes facilitate signal transduction in the organism cells, causing a physiological reaction to the cellular level of the organism. Enzymes also control the levels of peroxide found in cells, by regulating other proteins known as cytokines that eventually produce cell peroxide.

Scientists have determined that peroxiredoxins perform several vital functions in mammal organisms. In fact, laboratory mice, which have low or no peroxiredoxins present in their blood supply, suffered due to anemia, hemopoiesis or cancer -born cancer. A lower amount of enzyme can also effectively reduce the life of some laboratory mice by being more susceptible to infection or disease. Other laboratory mice suffer from oxidative stress or the inability of their bodies to remove toxins from oxygen supplied to cells.

Another vital functions that take place in mammals and other ORGanisms, peroxiredoxins are checked or facilitated. For example, enzymes found in plants protect against oxidation in cells that are part of the plant photosynthesis. In mammals, enzymes regulate events such as the death of cells, the production of new cells and the passage of impulses from one cell to another.

levels of peroxuredoxins found in the cells of the organism are regulated by changes in phosphate or oligomer levels in the body. The levels of the enzyme in the body may also be affected by any chemical reactions in the body that change the oxidative state of atoms, for example when carbon is oxidized and produces carbon dioxide. The organism continues to recycle enzymes in its cells rather than constantly producing new enzymes.

enzymes in the peroxiredoxins family can be found not only in Mammals, but also in other organisms. Mammals produce six different types of enzymes in the family, while E. coli produces only three differentTypes. In mammals, enzymes can account for up to one percent of the total amount of proteins found in the cells of the organism.

"Clock" or circadian rhythm of the body of the body are also regulated peroxuredoxins present in cells. Cirkadian rhythm is a 24 -hour biological clock that controls physiological and behavioral functions in various organisms, including mammals and plants that are independent of environmental allusions, such as when the sun rises or sets. Although other elements in the body contribute to the circadian rhythm, scientists have determined that these enzymes have regulated the circadian rhythm of mammals longer than any other known element.
