What are some common fonts?
The term font is technically used to indicate a specific style of the font. For example, while Arial can be Scripture, Arial regular, Arial Bold, Arial Italic and Arial Bold Italic would contain four different fonts. For the purposes of this work, however, we will use wider, more common, importance of scripture, understanding that we actually refer to the general script.
At a modern age, literally tens of thousands of fonts are available, with the advent of computers that cause them to proliferate. Of these fonts, there are perhaps a hundred, which are truly common letters, which forms a huge part of the printing and presentation of the screen that is performed. Of these one hundred, ten or fifteen are very common fonts that make up the lion's share in everything that is done with the type.
The most famous of the common font is undoubtedly Helvetica. This Sans-Serif font, designed by Max Miedinger in the age of 50, was built as a trly neutral type, giving him versatility to be used anywhere, and readability to beIdeal for marking. Helvetica was originally known as Neue Haas Grotesk, but until 1960 it was known as Helvetica.
Helvetica has many similarities in terms of character width, for example with another of the most common ARIAL fonts. Arial is included in Microsoft Windows and Mac OS and is the default Sans-serif on many computers, which is common to see on the Internet. Arial was designed in 1982 and was built of a grotesque monotype, using many of the same ligatures and general shapes as this font. Arial is often convicted by typographers because it is considered a Microsoft method to circumvent the payment of license fees to Helvetica creators.
Courier is another of the most common fonts designed to imitate the appearance of the typewriter. The script was first designed in the 1950s in Order to be used on real writing machines. With the arrival of computers, Courier found renewed popularity because the fixed widthKa between its letters means that the lines of the text are perfectly compensated.
Georgia and Verdana are two more of the most common fonts designed for Microsoft at the age of 90. Verdana is Sans-Serif, designed by Matthew Carter. He has some similarities to Frutiger and is built to be readable even in small sizes on the screen. Georgia was built as a companion to Verdana and was also designed by Matthew Carter. It is a Serif font and is also aimed at being readable in small sizes.
Maybe one of Serif's most famous Scriptures is the time of the new Roman. It was designed at the age of 30 for British paper The Times . Stanley Morison was commissioned to design a font, after lambasting The Times for their unreadable script in the article. As a result, it focused on readability in the context of newspapers. Times New Roman is the default selected script in many acceleration of the current text and, as a result, is by far the most common of the common font in papers printed from home.
other common scripts include comic Sans, impact, Lucida, Palatino, Tahoma, Symbol, Trebuchet, MS Serif, Geneva, Zapf Dingbats, Monaco, Book Antiqua and Garamond.
