What are the best tips for connecting the ceiling fan?

The connection of the ceiling fan does not differ much from the luminaire connection and it is only a little more complicated when the fan comes with its own lights. The light sets and motors of the ceiling fan are connected by conventional neutral wire and ground wire and each has its own hot wire. The wire colors differ from the manufacturer to the manufacturer, so one of the best tips is for one to check the instructions for installing a fan before starting. Another tip is the use of a cable of the same size that is used in the live perimeter. With or without a light set, the installation of the ceiling fan includes only the basic connection.

If there is no light kit, the usual procedure for connecting the ceiling fan for the installation program is lowered by a single length of the three-magnificent electrical cable used for lights and electrical outlets, between the fan and the switch. The black conductor is hot and connects to the switch. When a light set is used instead a four-cut cable and two hot drEat may be connected to separate switches. Common neutral and grounding wires are connected back to the panel via neutral and ground wires in the cable.

When connecting the ceiling fan, there is a slight complication when the light set or fan is controlled by a tensile string. There will still be two hot wires, but only one goes to the switch and the other must remain hot. This is usually achieved by the fact that the pig tails tail two short wire lengths to the wire of the hot circuit that brings the switch and connect one of them to the switch. The hot wire from the fan component without a string string string goes to the free terminal on the switch and the second hot wire is connected to the second length of the wire in the pigtail.

The third possible configuration in the connection of the ceiling fan is to connect the light and fan set to the same switch, so they at the same time turn off and turn off. This is done by connecting bothHot wires to the same switching terminal. When using a four -tongue cable, this means that either twisting two hot wires together and hanging around the terminal screw or feedback of one of them into the opening behind the terminal and the other around the screw.

When connecting the ceiling fan, it is recommended to use the same size cable as the one in the live circuit. This is the requirement of most electrical codes. Changing the size of the wire in the middle of the perimeter can overheat smaller wires and start the fire.
