What are the different kinds of Hawaiian flowers?

There are hundreds of flower varieties in the Hawaiian Islands, including a wide range of orchids, Anthurium and Protea. Many of them have become representative islands - some through their widespread use in Leis, others because of their bright colors and exotic shapes, evoking the mystic of the islands themselves. However, the tropical environment and the rich volcanic soil on the islands provides an ideal growing place for a wide range of important plants. They are rather than really "Hawaiian flowers" that capture the imagination of most people. All three of these varieties of orchids ( someectochilus , liparis and Platanthera ) are sticky, with hhtuda colors and are quite unimpressed to look at. They come in different colors, including white, yellow, pink and red, in a series of exotic shades and shapes. The native varieties of hibiscus have local common names like Koki'o Ke'oke'o, Ma'o hau Hele and Koli'o.

The most popular import into the Hawiian islands is undoubtedly a bird of paradise. The variety, which is most commonly found on the islands, is also known as crane lilies ( prrelitzia Reginae ). Gentle yellow orange petals associated with glittering blue and green, create one of the most prominent visual images found in the botanical world.

barely bouquet or lei is created on any of the islands without including an orchid of some kind of dendrobium. Most often, one will come across dendrobium Wasselii, a small orchid of white flowers, which makes it ideal for complementing colorful flowers. Dendrobium comes in all colors, from blood-orange color dendrobium unicum to the tender pink pink dendrobium apphyllum . There are more than a thousand species of orchid dendrobium and in one form or one can be found on the islands of Hawai'i virtually all.

In the Hawaiian decorative arrangement, it is hardly less common anthurium. A range of shapes helpedTo gain massive popularity. From the pulsating red Anthuria in the shape of a red heart to the long tulip pale purple flowers, the anthurium offers a fine counterpoint for orchids in a bouquet or can act as a separate piece, especially in shorter arrangements. The relatively small selection of the genus Anthurium is located in the Hawaiian Islands-Fifty of more than eight hundred overall species.

Proteas is rarely, although they are still surprisingly common, that they are introduced relatively recently. Their wide flowers are less romantic than orchids or anthurium and less magical than a mysterious bird of paradise, but it is a simple charm for them that guarantees them a place in the Hawaiian flower bouquets for a long time.

Leis is most often produced by orchids because of their versatility and color range. Sometimes carnations can be added to the orchids to lend the fragrance Lei. More traditionally, Leis is sometimes produced only with a leaf, with a small or no floral decoration.

on oOf course, there are many other flowers - including lava flowers, helikonia, Hawaii ginger and virtually every other tropical plant in the world. Hawai'i, like many world tropical islands, has become refuge for all ways of exotic flower, which helps to contribute to its reputation as a jewel of the Pacific.
