What are the different triathlon distances?

There are several different triathlon distances that allow athletes all levels of skills to participate in sports. For example, athletes for beginners can compete in the so-called Try-A-Tri or a little more advanced sprint races. For more qualified athletes there are longer Olympic triathlon races. Finally, seasoned athletes can compete at half and full of triathlon.

athletes who want to start competing in triathlons can compete in the Try-A-Tri race to see if the sport is right for them. There are no set distances for these races, but in general, swimming tends to be about 1,000-1 300 feet (about 300-400 m), running is usually about 2 miles (about 3 km) and wheels are not generally no more than about 10 miles (about 15 km).

Sprint Triathlon Races have longer triathlon distances than Try-a-Tri races. These races are suitable for athletes who increase the fitness level beyond what you need to compete in racesTry-a-tri. There are some small variations at a distance, but sprint triathlons generally have swimming legs about 1600-3 200 feet (500-1 000 m), cycling about 12.4 miles (20 km) and 3.1 kilometers (5 km).

longer triathlon distances are found in the Olympic triathlon races. The Olympic triathlon distances are standardized, without variations between races. The swimming leg is 0.93 miles (1.5 km). After swimming, cycling is 24.85 miles (40 km) and running 6.2 miles (10 km).

triathlon distances are longer at full distances. Full triathlons include swimming 2.4 miles (3.8 km) swimming, cycling 112 miles (180.25 km) cycling and running, which is the length of the marathon - 26.2 miles (42.2 km). These distances do not change between the races.

Other variations of the vtriathlon distance can be found in half the triathlon races. Triathlon with halfDistance are also set lengths that do not change between races. Each separate leg in this race is half the distance corresponding to the legs in the whole triathlon races.
