What are Tingsha?

Tingsha are cymbals used by people of Tibetan Buddhist faith. These cymbals may be as part of rituals and ceremonies and are also used during prayer and meditation. Many non-buddhists appreciate the sound of Tingsha, and these special chimes are sometimes used to clean the air in the room or to focus people's minds. The distinctive sound of Tingsha also appears, by the way on many New Age meditation and relaxation tapes.

These cymbals are always used in pairs. They are heavier than the Western and Middle East cymbals and are connected to the length of the skin or chain. You want to play Tingsha, someone strikes one cymbal against another and generates a penetrating ringing noise. If they are not used, the cymbals are usually stored in a protective bag or housing to prevent corrosion. Permanent remarks of Chime is one of the significant features of these cymbals; Tingsha may ring a few minutes when they are high quality and are well manipulated. Sometimes tingsha is covered with metals such as silverO, gold and copper to create a distinctive look and tone.

Many modern Tingsha is made of indifferent craftsmen or mass production lines and as a result they have a somewhat inferior sound. The high -quality couple Tingsha is perfectly compared, with each cymbal producing exactly the same sound when Tingsha is hit. They should not sound dissonant: the goal is a clear and clean remark with an extended and persistent surface. For this reason, many people like to try Tingshu before buying and some are looking for antique tingsha that tend to be better aligned.

, along with many other ritual tools of Tibetan Buddhism, Tingsha attracts to people who are not Buddhist, but just interested in Tibetan art, music and culture. As a result, they often sell in stores that specialize in imported ethnic items for people who want to use them for meditation, prayer or simplyMe to create the desired atmosphere. Some people feel that because Tingsha is ritual objects, they should be treated with respect, even with people who are not a Buddhist faith.
