What are the tomato cages?

tomato cages are instruments used to place tomatoes and offer support for fine plants and fruits. The cage can help slightly lift the tomato plants from the ground and away from the soil that can be able to prevent tomatoes from rotting. Lifting and supporting fine tomatoes with cage can also reduce the chances of infestation of insects. Gardeners may be better able to apply insecticides directly to the ground just below the plant without affecting the tomato plant itself. The tomato plant will usually be left to grow for approximately six weeks or long enough to allow the roots of the plants to properly attach to the soil and to increase the fruit. Once the tomato plant begins to increase, tomato cages can be built around it to add support.

If you want to manually build a tomato cage, wire fencing is usually introduced and placed in a height that is similar to the height of the plant tomato. The fencing of the wire is then wrapped around the perimeter of the plant. The lower part of the fencing of the wire can then be glued to the zme to stay upright. If cold weather or wind is present, the lower part of the tomato cage may be wrapped in plastic that helps protect the roots of the plant.

Cogematic ones are also available preliminary. They can be useful for novice gardeners or for those who do not have access to the tools to create their own wire cages. Preliminary cages are generally available in different sizes and materials, so the gardener can be able to find a shorter cage easier if it grows only one small tomato plant. Hand -made tomato cages can be more comfortable for people with several large tomato plants, as they can adapt more eanamito to estimate the desired size for preliminary tomato cages.

A possible alternative for tomato cages is the use of grid. Trellis is a structure similar to a grid that is opposed to the wall or is belowPlug -in columns. The wire then runs between the two ends of the structure so that the tomatoes are partially held by the wires, as the plants grow higher. In smaller tomatoes, short wooden bets can be inserted into the soil. As the plants grow, the twine can be used to lightly tie branches close to bets for support.
