Someone who is a good horticultural gardener, or good in the care of plants, is reported to have a green thumb. People like this often have a special talent for almost any type of plants to grow well. This quality is certainly beneficial in horticulture and agriculture, because healthy prosperous plants are necessary to achieve any profit. Many of those said to have a green thumb, really love plants and have a garden and/or houseplants. When the thumb and index finger are used to grip the rear plants to allow new growth, chlorophyll can sometimes color hands green. This is said how this term originated.
Some people say that my thumb means that a person has a natural ability to grow plants well.
