What is the butterfly lily?
Scarlet Butterfly Lily or Fireprike is a flowering, tropical evergreen shrub from Central America. The plant usually grows fast and can begin to produce red, tubes at the end of summer. Scarlet Butterfly Lily continues to flow through the whole winter in a warmer climate. He dies in the colder climate in winter, but hatches again in the spring. Between garden plants, fireprike is popular for landscaping and also for butterflies and hummingbirds.
Although originally from Central America, fires now grow wild in Florida. The fire produces rigid straight branches that can grow to a height of 6 feet (1.8 m). The elongated leaves usually grow against each other on each side of the stem and can have a length of 4 to 6 inches (10 to 15.2 cm).
