What is a bamboo shark?
bamboo sharks are categorized in the Hemiscyliidae family of the Octolobiformes Order. This family contains two families that are inhabited by bamboo sharks and carpet sharks that are relatives. Bamboo sharks in general are essentially miniature sharks with tails longer than their bodies. Usually it does not grow longer than 4 feet (1.2 m) in length, nor are they very fast swimmers. Sometimes they are held in captivity, but domestic aquariums must usually have at least 200 gallons of water for the shark of the bamboo to be successful.
The gray bamboo shark, scientifically known as chiloscyllium griseum , grows up to about 2.5 feet (0.76 m) to length and has a somewhat deceptive name. It is often described as brown than gray. Bamboo gray sharks can be found in the oceans surrounding Asian countries such as Philippines, Thailand and China. However, their numbers decrease and are classified as almost threatened on the red list of iCno -threatened species.
chiloscylium indicum , also called a slim bamboo shark, rosYou about the same length as its gray counterpart. It is considered harmless to humans and is often captured and consumed in some countries. For example, in Australia, meat of this type of shark is known as flakes and is usually consumed as part of a bowl of fish and fries. Its skin is sometimes used as a skin to use more catch. Some relatives of this shark often share the same fate.
A brown bandy bamboo shark, also known as chiloscylium punctatum or cat shark, is one of the kind of shark, which is most often maintained in aquariums. These sharks are characterized by their brown and white striped pattern, of which they usually have about 10 of each, but they retain this formula only when they are young. When they develop on adults, they leave their band patterns for a brown look.
Another kind of bamboo shark, white bamboo shark or chiloscylium plagiOsum is common for coral reefs in the Pacific Ocean. These night sharks are marked with brown belts on their bodies, as well as a dark brown and white spot. Given the incidence of a female bamboo shark who gave birth to children without being around a man of the same kind for more than five years, scientists have not been speculated about what they may not know about the reproduction systems of shark since 2011.
