What is biathlon?

Biathlon is an athletic competition in which athletes compete in two sports. Although any combined competition could be considered biathlon, the word is usually used to indicate a combination of skiing and shooting. In addition to being an Olympic sport with a list, biathlon is also very popular in North European countries and Russia, where, in addition to the qualifying competitions for the Olympics, regular competitions are held to make the skills of athletes, unlike many other combined sports. It has roots in military exercises from the 17th century, in which soldiers would go for long skiing expeditions and hunt food. The Norwegian Army branches began to compete in the biathlon format at the end of the 17th century, and in the 18th century many nations built biathlon teams in the competition. Many North European soldiers still include a segment of skiing and shooting on cross -country skiing. After skiing the set distance, the athletes shoot from lanes and then restore skiing. There are usually four skiing and bike shootingin a single biathlon. During the ski phase, the athlete wears his rifle in a sling mounted on the back of the ski suit and is allowed any style of skiing. The order is assessed both at a time when biathlon needs to be completed and for the accuracy of the target.

Usually, every biathlete is expected to hit five goals during the shooting phase. 100% accuracy is required, and if athletes lack the goal, they must undergo a punishment. Usually the fine is another ski distance in the next round of skiing, although in some biathlons the judges simply add a minute to ski time for each missed shot, which will affect the time standing athlete.

Usually the biathlon team comes from a nation with a seasonal snow package because it is difficult to train on biathlon when no snow is available. Some countries combine running or swimming and shooting for a different biathlon style while some entrepreneurs compete in biathlon skatingEs, either on ice or on skates. Some biathlons put athletes in snow shoes or forced them to take an orientation course in competition and further tested their potential military condition.
