What is a black comedy?
The
film that acquires controversial or taboo in a deliberate way is often referred to as black comedy . The black comedy tends to use sarcastic or sardonic dialogue to remove some of the audience prejudices about the proper treatment of taboo. For example, the reality of war is generally suitable for documents or serious dramatic films. However, the Vietnamese war film by Stanley Kubrick Full Metal Jacket and Robert Altman's M*and*S*H* However, both treat the object of the war unmistakably dark humor. For example, the main character of Kubrick's fully metal jackets spends a large part of the film mumming and mumming sarcastic observations, while the horrors of war take place around him.
The black comedy does not always have heavy or morbidne. Sometimes humor comes from essentially direct characters that are placed behind trAdius of bleak or controversial circumstances. The characters may have little idea that their profession or lifestyle is morally or ethically controversial for foreigners such as the audience. The target audience of a typical black comedy is usually net mainstream, so creators can and often push the envelope in terms of shocking or controversial sequences. For example, a black comedy about koThe Rejsian war could contain scenes of the graphic battlefield or operating room, but the filmmakers have to decide whether comic elements are strong enough to balance more dramatic or more controversial sequences. Successful black comedy should still be considered a comedy, not a drama with several cases of dark humor.
Stanley Kubrick also created another film that many film critics consider to be one of the best black comedies ever created. In dr. Strangel or: As I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb , the mentally unbalanced military officer refuses to remember the squadron of American bombers by mistake to drop atomic bombs in Russia. The efforts of various diplomats and military officers prevent complete global destruction becomes the basis for dark comedy sequences. While the subjecsamotic matter, the danger of the nuclear war, would usually not speak a comedy, Kubrick and actor Peter Sellers managed to keep dark toOmedial tone of the film through brilliant dialogue and superior character roles. This balance between comedy and pathos is what distinguishes a black comedy from traditional comedies.
