What is the swamp?
Bog garden is a type of marshy garden located in low -laid areas in the yard, which are prone to be very wet. They are often located near the pond or contain an artificial pond. Bog Gardens need very little care and are ideal for plants that require constantly wet soil.
Since the garden does not need great care, it should be disrupted as little as possible. The location of this garden in low operation is ideal. The road is often designed around the garden so that people can view the life of plants without damaging it. The swamps need sunlight and cannot be placed near trees or where leaves are likely to fall. It is also important to ensure that larger swamps do not provide a smaller shadow. These gardens can be almost any size, the smallest planting in a large garden pot. Full -size gardens can be more than 5 SMJs legs (1.5 m
2 ). If the natural pool is not present, there is in the SGardens width often designed a pool, although it is not necessary.
bog Gardens must be placed on a flat soil. In the area selected for the garden, a shallow hole is usually pulled out, usually about 12 inches (30 cm) deep. Upon completion, the hole is first lined with sand or gravel and then a plastic or vinyl sheet. In general, three parts of peat and one part of the sand are generally used to cover the lining, but some plants may require a different ratio of peat to grouping. Foreign gardens tend to spread, so a few centimeters of foil are usually exposed.
Many types of plants that attract birds and butterflies can be planted in a marshy garden. These include, but are not limited to, cardinal flowers, coasts, rocks. Some carnivorous plants such as Venus Flytraps and Syndws can also be planted in the gardens. In addition, several types of mosses are often used as ground coverage.
bog Gardens arein designed to imitate natural peat bogs, so they should never be fertilized. Like natural swamps, they create their own fertilizer. Pruning the garden once a year, usually in winter, maintaining an area without overhanging tree branches and ensuring that the peat bogs do not approve, are generally the only care that the swamp needs.
