What is a bubble skirt?

Bubble skirt is a type of short skirt with balloon silhouette. These skirts are designed to lean on the bottom and sides, and are firmly mounted on the waist. The bubble skirt was popular at the age of 80 and sometimes referred to as a tulip skirt. Bubble skirts usually reach the middle thigh, but sometimes they are shorter. Minisco bubbles often had shorts under the skirt or were worn over pantyhose knee lengths.

There are usually three main components in a bubble skirt pattern. The pieces of cut consist of a longer, extra wide outer layer, narrow, shorter inner layers and waist. Although skirts usually consist of only three pieces, they may require a certain skill. The final sum represents the length of the fabric that should be a cut for the outer layer. To determine the width of the piece, the bearer should be measured around the hips, then this character should usually double. The inner layer should be about 12 inches (30.5 cm) narrower and shorter than the outer layer. The belt should be cut to measurethe wearer's waist, adding about 2 inches (5 cm) for closing and ease.

After cutting pieces of fabric for the bubble skirt are ready to assemble. The lower edge of the outer piece of the fabric should be firmly collected to the lower edge of the inner piece. Once it is done, the upper edge of the outer piece should be leveled with the upper edge of the inner piece and re -gather the outer piece to fit into the inner part. At this point, both pieces should be connected together and ready for gathering to the passport. Once this is achieved, the skirt can be completed by inserting a zipper and a closure button.

Some bubble skirt styles use wide elastic strips instead of sewn passports. The use of elastic allows easier adaptation, but the connection of the substance to the elastic can sometimes be complex, especially for beginners. Elastic should be stretched when the substance is sewn. If so do not do soYou can cause elasticity to relax and beat the entire purpose.

Bubble skirts can be made of most soft, pliable fabric. Most bubble skirts 80 were designed using cotton or polyester knits. Other fabrics that work well for this type of skirt are soft satin, silk and taffeta.
