What is Bunad?

He considered the national Norwegian folk costume, the bun wears men and women and reflects the region from which it is wearing. Today, Bunady is worn at traditional and festival celebrations, not just for folk dances, as once. The most popular opportunity to wear Bunad is the observance of the Norway National Day or Norwegian Constitutional Day, celebrating May 17th and reminds of statements about Norway as an independent nation. Skirts will often contain the type of hustle and bustle. In addition, it is not unusual to wear a scarf over one shoulder. Women traditionally carry Bunad wallets, but instead they will have a removable network or small transport that is worn at the waist and connected to the belt. The silver decoration belt is always worn as part of TON.

For men, Bunad has either either a leg length or in the full length of one color. The vest traditionally preferred as part of the costume is usually the most decorated piece of clothing and will have the same motif embroidered as they matchthe female outfit from the same area. Facing a jacket is often worn and will be made in the same material as pants. Some other charming patterns will use the jacket different colors from pants.

both men and women have headgear, which are often worn as part of a regional costume. In women, the corresponding bonnet is worn, but it is not mandatory to complete the costume. Floral motifs are commonly used based on women and a particular motif will be a common theme that is on every piece of costume, including the bonnet. If the hat is worn by a man, he is usually not decorated as a female bonnet, but instead is simple and will have the same color as the background of Bunad himself.

With the growing popularity of Bunad, it has become important to set standards to maintain regional traditions. The National and Local Councils have now been introduced in an effort to maintain regional standards. These advice try to regulate the use of material, colors and decorations in creating costumes.
