goats that are selected for their wool usually share several features. Usually it is preferable to choose a cushion goat with tightly undulating hair; KRIMP is called a style or character. Hair diameter is an important quality with measurements performed in microns. Normal hair measurement can range from 16 to 19 microns and some goats measure on a very fine 14 microns. Any hair that measures more than 19 microns cannot be a labeled like cashmere. For comparison, human hair measures about70 microns. Goats that have a coat of one full color are generally preferred to those with mixed color. The most sought -after goats often have a undercoat that is firmly white, brown or gray.
Cashmere Goat wool gather in spring when goats start to throw coats in preparation for a warm season. The thread is usually collected by one of the two ways. The first method is a cut that can be done relatively quickly, but often leads to a coarser, less pure fiber. Another method is combing, in which the comb is stretched to the hair of the animal to extract the fiber. This method is usually much slower and it takes up to two weeks to complete. However, the amount of pure cushion, which is collected in this way, is often higher than can be collected by cutting.
goats are generally considered easy raise and can provide more to its owners than just a wave. Can be used for milk and meat and have affinity to eat weeds, brushes and other pests on the lawn. Goats graze animals, so the cost of feeding is usually low. Cashmere goats that graze and wander outside also tend to produce a wool of better quality. Tits are social creatures that are the happiest and most productive when they are in the herd. A lonely goat can be unhappy and sick, causing the quality of the wool to decline. For this reason, cashmere goat should not usually be kept without a companion for some time.
