What is the chimney liner?

The chimney liner is a pipe, usually placed in the chimney of the house heated by wood, gas or oil, through which smoke, heat and fuel by -products are excluded. Until the mid -20th century, the surprising number of houses still appeared without a liner of any kind. It was no coincidence that the fires of chimneys and fires from the house were much prevailing at the time than in modern times.

Almost all chimneys are now lined. For new construction or reconstruction of houses, the chimney insert is almost generally required by government building regulations. Although the laws differ according to the state and the country, the mandate that the insert will be installed, it exists in virtually all locations. Three primary types of inserts are clay, metal and version that is occupied on site.

Due to their low costs, clay or ceramic tile, the chimney is probably still the most common form. For use with a fireplace, which is primarily decorative, and not the main source of heating of the house, he classes a great choice. But they are notA good choice if a person uses stoves of wood, gas or oils that produce very high temperatures. The clay tiles do not easily absorb heat or transmit along the entire length of the chimney. If the fires of chimneys should occur, clay tiles tend to break, burst or break.

is a better and safer option, though more expensive, is a metal chimney. These inserts are usually made of stainless steel or aluminum. Metal inserts are almost always installed when you need to repair or replace a chimney with clay lining. Both are strong, durable and have excellent absorption and heat transfer properties.

Installing stainless steel and aluminum inserts is a relatively simple process. This is especially true for aluminum because it is highly flexible. These chimney inserts are often surrounded by insulation that can withstand extreme temperatures that make them double safe if the chimney fire explodes. FireIt will be largely contained in the lining and can be mixed or mounted long before enough heat transfer to the inner walls to create combustion.

On -site cast is basically a chimney in the chimney. It is difficult and robust, created and poured by a substance very similar to the composition to concrete. The place insert is safe for all types of stoves that fuel for fuel and can be the most effective insert. As a side advantage, because it is built in the chimney, it serves secondary purpose by adding a high degree of structural integrity.
