What is a Dalmatian pelican?

Dalmatian Pelican, Pelecanus crispus , is the largest member of the Pelican Bird family. The mature Dalmatian pelican has an average body of 65 to 75 inches (about 170 to 190 cm) long with 10 feet (about 3 m) wings and weighs £ 23 to 33 (about 10.5 to 15 kg). The Dalmatian pelican is sometimes called curly pelican for its curly rose hips, and also differs from a white pelican with its gray legs and light gray feathers.

This pelican is originally from southeastern Europe, India and China. Dalmatian pelicans make nests from massive vegetation in shallow lakes, deltach and swamps. Most of these birds are territorial and are selected with small or no human disturbances. In general, they also decide to live in small flocks of five or less. It is less likely that they hunt in large groups and instead it tends to feed itself or inserts. The diet of all Dalmatian pelicans depends on its specific location, but usually consists of carp, Rudd and even eels. Sometimes they eat other wetland birds smaller than themselves, but they tend to prefer fish.

At the end of the 20th century, the Dalmatian pelican was removed from a vulnerable state and decreased to protection -dependent condition. Due to the reduction of its wetland habitat and hunting, the Pelican's population has decreased rapidly over a century. The preservation measures were then taken in Europe around 1994 and showed enough positive results to grow population again. Like all wetland creatures, the Dalmatian pelican is sensitive to human interventions. Accused for a decline in fishing and hunted after valuable feathers and Bill, the number of pelican even reduced below 1,000 at a time.

usually takes about a third of the years to achieve sexual maturity, which can cause population growth is much slower than other wetland creatures. During the mating season, feathers and feathers are turning into a lighter gray color and contrast with the red orange case under the accountM, which is used to attract friends. The mating season usually runs from mid -January to the end of July, giving the type enough time for durability. European nature was able to help the natural process by setting preservation, introducing pelicans coming from the zoo to their natural habitat and carefully monitoring their overall health and numbers.
