What is Duathlon?
Duathlon is an athletic event that differs from biathlon and triathlon. In biathlon, any two related or unrelated sports events are carried out together. Biathlon could be a combination of running and cycling, cycling and swimming race, or even used in winter sports to combine things like running skiing and shooting on targets. Triathlon is an athletic competition where participants compete in three sports, most often by bike, running and swimming. Primarily people first start the set distance, then the set distance on the bike and starts the next distance set for the final event. The Canadian Central International Triathlon Union tends to manage the most formal Duathlon competition.
Standard distances for the duathon competition may vary. In 2005, one of the larger competitions in London took place, and was a combination of 10K (6.21 miles) running, 20k (12.42 miles) cycle and the last 5K (3.11 million) run. Regular duathlon may appear on public streetsCH, but in recent years it is a tendency to create terrain duathlons, which are sometimes called "dirty dus". Running off the road and cycling can add an extreme element to these races, because people have to negotiate uneven ways in both run and bike.
This does not mean that people who participate in the standard duathlon always run or bike on initials. The Swiss event called Powerman Zofingen has the beginning of 10k running through a hilly course and then an exhausting 150K (93.2 miles) race. Finally, the participants complete the plant by running another 30K (18.64 million). The competition of Switzerland considers many athletes to be the most difficult duathlon in the world and requires incredible stamina and strength only for Finish and the extraordinary athletic skill to win.
Depending on the type of duathlon and the number of competitors, each race may contain division. Men and women's divisions may exist because men generally overcomeWomen in these events. Some duathlons also have children's divisions. These are usually limited to less exhausting competitions, or children's division can create shorter distances so that children can compete with exhaustion.
Another variant of this combo sport is the winter version that does not use or cycling. Instead, skiers compete in races for running and freestyle for total victory. They must stop between two ski forms to turn into suitable skis. The first of these official winter duathlons took place at the Nordic World Championship in 2003.
