What is a forced air furnace?
Forced air furnace use a combination of furnace and pipe to warm the house. The Air room is drawn into the house pipe. The pipe passes into the furnace where the air is heated. Once the air is heated, it is pushed back into the room. Before the extensive use of forced air furnaces, the most common heating systems were known as gravitational furnaces. They used a convection rather than a blower to move through the air around the house. The most common type of forced air heating system uses natural gas, but can also use oil, coal, wood or electricity. Natural gas, because it is widely available and relatively cheap, is an excellent choice for forced air furnace systems. The thermostat controls the burner connected to the pilot light. The air from home is pulled from Ductwork to the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber is a metal box that retains heat. The air is heated in the combustion chamber and the heated air moves back to the house. More air is brought from the heating pipes. Exhaust gases from the process burnedThey are venting, either by a roof or a wall.
Electric forced air furnaces work in the same way as natural gas heaters, but instead of having pilot light and burners, they use the heating elements to warm the air.
Any type of forced air furnace requires pipes. Pipes can be made of metal and wrapped in insulation or made of flexible material that combines insulation pipes. The insulation is important because it prevents the cooling of the air on the way from the furnace to the room.
There are two types of air registers in the house that use forced air furnace. Returning air is greater at each level of the house can only be one or two. They pull the air out of the rooms and send it to the furnace. Room registers are smaller and there will be one or two or more in each room. They supply warm air to the house.
There are several things you can do to increasethe performance of your high -effective furnace. Rooms registers should be evenly distributed to the house. If some areas of the house are permanently warmer than others, consider partially or completely closing the room registers in these areas. This allows you to flow more warm air into other areas of home. Also, do not block the air return with furniture. For the most effective air exchange, air refunds should be without restrictions.
No matter what type of forced air system you have, there are several accessories that you can make into your heating system that will improve the level of the comfort of your home. You can add air conditioning units, humidifiers or air filter to the summer to cool your home, add moisture to the air, or clean the air in your house.
