What is a frog?
frogfish, also known as the scientific name of the antennariidae, are the family of English found in tropical and subtropical oceans around the world. They are known for their distinctive visual characteristics and are named for their squat, amphibian appearance and for their primary means of locomotion-by-the-house fins "walk" along the seabed. With various camouflage techniques and a specially modified backbone, which resembles the bait at the fishing pole, these fish are highly effective assaults of predators. You can find them in some domestic aquariums, but it is difficult to take care of them and can eat friends from tanks.
The antennae family consists of about 50 species that differ in size and in appearance. Even members of the same species may seem quite different and color variations between the same variety of frogs, which once led scientists to misconception that there were more than 160 species in the family. They can move in size from a little bit of a thumb (about 4.3 cm) to 15 inches (about 38 cm), even KDYŽ most species are towards the smaller end of this range. Members of the antennariidae family can be found in tropical seas around the world, mostly in coral reefs or coastal areas with shallow waters.
Most family species have highly specialized camouflage patterns that are very similar to part of their habitats. For example, Sargassum Frogfish, scientifically named Hitririo Histrio, has fleshy pendants that help him mix with the seaweed Sargassum. Individual fish can also change color over time, so it is very difficult to identify these types of fish. Like other types of Anglerfish, the frog uses their first dorsal spine, which ends with a special bait called Esca to attract prey.
In many ways, Frogfish resembles their amphibious name tags more than their colleagues of the sea creation. Have short, stock bodies with pectoral fins that couldy easy to mistake your feet. Although some species can swim or gills swim or bars of water, the most common form of locomotion is to use foot pectoral fins to pull along the seabed. For viewers, the fish seems to go with walking like a frog.
6 Holds perfectly calmly and uses their specialized camouflage and Esca bait that can look like a worm or a small crustacean to attract prey. Once the victim is within reach, the frog expands his mouth and strikes at incredible speed and swallows his prey. It is one of the fastest attacks of any fish and can only take six thousandths of one second. Some types of frogs are searched as pets, but their feeding habits can make it difficult to maintain. In general, it must be maintained isolated because they have no reservations about the absorption of any friends, even other members of the same kind. On the contrary, some species are masked so well that other fish can be confused with coral or seaweed and can occasionally bite on the pendants of frogs atFinding food.
